If Tomorrow Starts Without Me

Leaving life, but returning as much more

If tomorrow starts without me

and you tear the bed apart - searching for pieces of me

as tears are falling from your eyes with an over beating heart

know that I am closer than you think

I am the bird perched outside the bedroom window

and when you step outside and begin cursing the ground

I am the wind that blows across your face

I am the first star in the sky that begins to shine

the shimmer in the corner of your eye from the first winters snow

I am the sun that peaks through trees with fallen leaves

I may have left life, but returned as much more

I may have left life, but I did not leave you
