If in the winter night

If in the winter night

By then, the mountains are far away

The wind and snow tapped on the door. It is the coldest day of the year

The flames jumped again when the pine wood crackled

The stove is small

But this night was surrounded by four white walls

And because of the shaking, my shadow becomes warm

If, on a winter night, a traveler

Comes from the wilderness

I would open the door and drink away the barking of the dogs

And after a little fuss, the wine will fill another glass

Sitting around the fire

There may or may not be conversation

But the lamp must be there

If you are tired, you will put your guests to bed

As for the snow outside the house, how deep it has fallen is a matter for the snow
