I recently published a little book of poems called 'Are These Poems or an Overshare?' on the Googleplay store, this is my favourite one and I hope you enjoy :)
If I were a poem
If I were a book
Who'd want to browse the words inside?
Who would want to look?
Ink smeared on the page
All pages once damp
Rain water, spills and tears
Coffee ring stamped
Some pages are damaged
A few more lost to nasty storms
Some of the corners are folded
Some taped up from being torn
The binding is cracked
From love or poor handling
Some of the sentences run too long
And verge on rambling
But the story is one of a kind
One that no one else can tell
It’s not well formatted or edited
Perhaps that’s why it never sells
But if I were a poem
Or if I were a book
I'm sure there are those out there
Who would want to look
We all have our stories
We all have hidden pains
Hidden in sentences and pages
Where unspoken words have claim
Because there likely is somebody
Someone else who understands
Who can read cryptic language
And hold that book with steady hands
There are those out there
Whose story reads like your own
With an empty spot on their bookshelf
For that book of yours to call home
Just because your book is damaged
Doesn't mean no one will look
The writer crafts the story
The reader loves the book
