If I am a Video Game Character
Insomnie a deux?
The nights I can't sleep,
are you awake?
Long afternoons
where the sun tilts through my window
but I can't make the shadows move
out of bed,
are you there
watching me buffer?
Or maybe you're at work
like when I neglect my Animal Crossing village for too long
and weeds populate between
all the yellow cosmos I grew
last spring...
is there work where you are?
Or maybe you're busy with
living,
high-flying through a
sky full of escapades,
of love,
of adventure.
If that's the case,
I forgive you for
forgetting me,
the extension of yourself,
the video game character in the game
marketed as Life.
If the possibilities out there
are as infinite as in here,
I don't blame you one bit.
