I will run away one day
Somewhere you can’t hurt me anymore

I will run away one day
I walk the rooms,
They hold my fear,
The walls are close,
The air is tight.
Your words cut deep,
They chain me down,
I hide my tears,
I hide my fight.
But time will come,
A door will open,
The sky will call,
And I will go.
My feet will move,
Beyond your reach,
Your voice will fade,
You will not know.
I will run away one day,
And never look back,
My heart will heal,
My soul will stay free

I've been writing poetry since the age of fourteen. With pen in hand, I wander through realms unseen. The pen holds power; ink reveals hidden thoughts. A poet may speak truth or weave a tale. You decide. Let pen and ink capture your mind❤️

Another good one for a women's support group for battered women and maybe even for battered men.
