i was once your lily
A breakup "nonet" love poem
Photo by Alyona Bogomolova on Unsplash
I was once your lily: white-belled bloom
to lend your valley roots. I grew
beauty in your umbras - I
was nectar to cure gloom.
But your darkness woke
the beast in me;
I bore my
poison
fruit.

β€οΈ Gina... you have owned this challenge!!
What a wonderful nonet - so full of vivid imagery. Congratulations on the Top Story - it's well-earned!
Ouuuuuuuu, I missed this one. Amazing work. Congratulations, Gina!!!
Oh missed this beautiful piece. Congrats on the TS.
Oh YES Gina! I love this! This should be a top story for sure! I love how you 'turned' the MC's perspective from the innocent and delicate white flower to dark poisonous berries in response to the partner's darkness. Wow!
So beautifully done with such rich imagery! Great work, Gina!
Excellent nature piece
Ah now I know where my poison fruit came from! Loved your Nonet!
Wow! The vivid imagery penned with perfectly chosen words paints a tiny portrait of a big emotion. This is fantastic!
Gina, your words are impeccable, as always. There's so much said here in so few words!
This is a great entry, you've packed so much imagery and emotion into so little space!
