I want to drive with the windows down,

the wind in my hair.

I want to go swimming in the ocean,

my skin bare.

*

I want to watch the desert stars come out,

and forget my role.

I want to paint a masterpiece,

a reflection of my soul.

*

I want to stand atop a mountain,

watch an eagle's flight.

I want to help someone,

and always do what's right.

*

I'm on a path of rediscovery

but I know this much as true...

after pain and suffering,

you can always be made anew.

Excellent poem, aspirations and positive conclusion. I especially like: “I want to watch the desert stars come out, and forget my role. I want to paint a masterpiece, a reflection of my soul.”😊

Immediately pulled into an energy that frees us, into doing what is best for us. I like that. Forgetting our role. That's heavenly to think about 😍 On a mountain watching an eagle. This poem is definitely one of the best feel good poems. The eagle. I can't look at one without being completely blown away. We were in the forest a couple days ago. Even though we couldn't see it properly. We thought it could very well be one. Mostly because of the colour of the feathers, the width of the wings. Everything about it didn't look like a bird we usually see around — that high up. We thought it was almost like a once in a lifetime thing and it brought us joy. Love the reassurance in the last few line and that you made a part 2 👌🏾🤗❤️

I agree! It doesn't always feel like we can be healed after trauma and heartbreak, and we probably will never be the same, but something new (and better, stronger). It's a great poem, Krysha. I love how light and heavy it is in the same time. ❤️

  • It takes trial after trial to be made anew. Lovely. Krysha.

The simplicity of this powerful truth is everything. We accept limitations every day, but we were never meant for such lows. Your poem is beautiful!

  • This is gentle and beautiful. I loved: "I want to paint a masterpiece, a reflection of my soul."
