Dreams of Sand

These dreams of you, I wish that they could last...

The scent of you, it lingers here with me -

it radiates from ev'ry place you've been.

Although your smiling face I cannot see...

immortalize you now with paper, pen.

*

I hug a pillow close to me at night

and feel your chest beneath my cheek and hand ,

for soon I'll find you here with me in sight -

I'm taken to the land of dreams of sand.

*

My spirit soars whenever you're around

so come to me, I need you can't you see?

Fly through the night without a single sound

to where I am, I need you here with me.

*

These dreams of you, I wish that they could last

but soon, these dreams of sand will be my past.

"Although your smiling face I cannot see... immortalize you now with paper, pen." I absolutely love this part! It reminds me of someone from my past, someone I will not see again, but reading this felt comforting and afforded me a smile.

Reading this made me miss my boyfriend, and he's sitting right next to me 🤭 I love the last line especially. We often talk about this, in the end we'll lose each other... if not because we grow apart, because we grow old... it's sad but the same time beautiful.

  • Gosh this was so poignant and relatable. Loved it!

  • Beautiful ❤️
