I Want to Tell Your Story…But I Can’t
A Poem

*And yet now I find myself working on the new edition of a book in which I did share her story, with not only her blessing but with her encouragement! She passed away three years ago, but her legacy will not be forgotten!

I want to tell
You’re story
But I can’t
The pain
The heartbreak
The things you
Endured
Are not
My story
To tell
Not in the
Confines
Of a few
Lines of
Poetry.
The story
I can
Tell is
How your
Strength
Made me strong
How you showed
Me what it was
To live for Him.
I used to write
You lines of poetry
Trying to spell
Out how much
You meant to
Me
But the words
Never seemed
To be enough.
We met late in 01
Early 02
And yet it
Feels you
We’re always
There
Guiding me
Spelling out
Faith
In the life
You lived
Sharing all
You overcame.
You were there
At Nonna’s funeral
A shoulder to lean
On
During that hard
Time
And the gesture
Meant the
World
To me.
I want to
Tell your
Story
But I can’t
So I’ll
Spell out
What you
Meant to
Me
In
Lines of
Poetry.
