I want to go to America
Please god let me win the lottery

I want to go to America
In the glittering glow of Las Vegas nights,
Where dreams dance boldly in neon lights,
I long to wander down those vibrant streets,
Where every corner pulses with electrifying beats.
The casinos hum with a promise of fate,
Each spin and each shuffle igniting my fate.
In this city of chance, where fortune may sway,
My heart finds a rhythm that beckons to play.
Oh, America, land woven with dreams,
Where every heartbeat glimmers and gleams.
Amidst the longing, a fire within burns bright,
I yearn for the magic that comes alive in the light.
So here I stand, with hope in my hand,
Dreaming of laughter in this vast, endless land.
With courage as my compass, I’ll chase the unknown,
For each dream of Las Vegas reclaims what I’ve sown.
Maybe my lottery numbers will come up for me,
And on a plane to America is where I will be

Very nice! I recently heard an interview with Steve Hilton, a former advisor to David Cameron, who is running for governor of California. He said that when he was growing up in England, California embodied the American dream. America in general was a dream place to him and the people he knew in England, but nothing more so than California, where it was warm and vibrant and beautiful. I didn't know that, and your poem reflects all of that, but with Las Vegas. Las Vegas has changed, but it's probably still what you're looking for. My parents, like many people of their generation, went there for their honeymoon in the late 60s. Back then, and for a long time, it was a place where you could go and have a lot of fun for very little money. My dad still talks about the comedy show they saw there (Frank Gorshin, the Riddler from the 1960s Batman TV show). However, it's different now. I've gone to Vegas 1-2 times a year for business the last few years, after first going there 25 years ago. Yeah, there are lights and things everywhere. World class restaurants and shows. 3 years ago I had the best meal of my life in the restaurant at the top of the Vegas Eiffel Tower. But it's not cheap anymore. Everything costs money. For example, when I travel most of the time, if the hotel doesn't give me 1-2 bottles of water for my room, I can still get one from a vending machine for maybe $1.50. In Vegas, they not only gave me nothing, but the vending machine water was $5. That's not terrible, but the point is, they've changed. In many of the older movies, couples would go there with nothing, hoping to hit it big, or have a fun weekend on the cheap. Not anymore. But you can still have a great, great time!
Brilliant!!!
