She Hunted For Her Sister's Christmas Gift
Her friend sent it to her.

This year Tina had worked hard
Earning money for Christmas.
She had shoveled many yards,
Tended kids, and cleaned houses.
Each morning newspapers she sold,
Even got paid for household chores.
Friends thought she had a heart of gold,
An example to her siblings too.
Tina had a younger sister named Ann
Who had always looked up to her.
Tina was April's number one fan.
In life they were never "apart."
A few years ago Tina was given a doll.
Now this doll was hard to find.
It talked and stood eighteen inches tall,
Also cried and laughed.
There was one Christmas store in their local mall,
But it only had puzzles and games.
In order for Tina to find this doll,
She would have to look high and low.
Tina's gift giver had moved away.
She taught her in elementary school.
Her friend gave her the doll in May
As a special birthday gift.
Tina didn't know what she would have to pay.
This did not matter at all.
She had a feeling she should pray
Then felt so peaceful inside.
Three days before Christmas a package came
Which was addressed to her,
But she did not see a name.
She wondered what the gift was.
When Tina looked inside,
There was the doll her sister wanted.
Her heart was filled with pride
When she found out it was from her friend.
Tina and Ann gave each other an embrace,
And both of them had to cry.
A big smile was on Ann's face.
Tina was grateful that she prayed.
