I try to sink

A wee-word poem

By Hannah MoorePublished 2 years ago β€’ 1 min read
Second Place in the Short and Sweet Challenge

On the way in the fast push of the sea

Will fill each bomb hit hole we do not want to look at

With sky like blue.

On the way out, the sea lays bare each dip, new and old,

And we say we did not know they were in our way

All the time.

Gosh this was stunning. Love can be so all encompassing; a trueness to ourselves cannot be forgotten in its midst. Unless I butchered this poem's meaning in which don't tell me! LOL Amazing work, Hannnah!!

I read this three times to let the meaning wash over me like the tide. The best poetry makes you say, "wait, one more time." Well done :)

I think I read this, and I can’t believe I never commented! It’s starting, so complex and full. I absolutely adore it. Ignoring the pits is what gets you in trouble. You said it so poignantly! ❀️❀️❀️ Congratulations, Hannah!!

  • Congratulations! 😁😘 I feel a bit silly saying this but I think I need help to understand it’s meaning? Is anyone willing?
