You were my first shooting star

and now every time I see one

I think of what we could have had.

You were my first shooting star,

and now I can’t look up at the night sky

without crying my eyes out

because I can’t not think about how much I miss you

you were my first shooting star,

and now every time I see something shoot across the sky

even if it’s just an airplane,

I can’t help but to say your name.

You were my first shooting star,

I’m never going to be able to forget you

I’m never going to be able to give you up.

You were my first shooting star,

and I can’t help comparing the beauty

to that ball of fire shooting across the sky

to the intricate beauty that is you.

You were my first shooting star

and just like that star

you and I are like opposing fire and ice,

coexisting in the same space

you were my first shooting star,

I will never stop loving you.
