I Saw Rainbows

(duplex)

By j.e.ridpathPublished 2 years ago 1 min read

I saw rainbows for the very first time,

The first time I ever saw you see red

Such intensity I’d never seen, when you saw red,

Like the first time I saw an orange dragonfly

Dancing and swirling like an orange dragonfly,

On a dance floor flooded with flashing yellow lights

Moving mindlessly through flashing yellow lights,

Noxious green-envy vapours asphyxiated my breath

Breathing poisonous envy-green gases took my breath,

My mind floated into vast brilliant blue skies

With my mind floating in vast brilliant blue skies,

I was surprised when the bruises turned deep purple

The bruises you gave me turned a deep purple —

And I thought seeing rainbows meant love
