I remember

My youth

By Victoria EnochPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

We were once so young and bold,

Our dreams and ambitions untold,

Bright with enthusiasm, our future was bright,

We knew not that life had its fright.

So full of idealism and truth,

No concept of what would be our youth,

We marched on with no fear or care,

Our lives so open to the air.

But even as time passed us by,

Our mental strength began to die,

The power of our dreams fading fast,

In their place, fear and doubt came to last.

Our outlook changed from anticipation,

To moments of hesitation,

The bright future we used to perceive,

Was now lost amongst all the grief.

But in darkness a new light shines through,

As hope for the future is renewed,

We can find courage in each other’s stories,

And use them to revive our own glory.
