I Never Knew
Then I met you my true love for life

I Never Knew
I never knew how lonely my days had been,
Not until you stepped into my life and stayed,
Not until your presence settled into my breathing,
And showed me how a heart can truly be made.
I never knew how warm a room could feel,
Just because your voice was somewhere near,
Just because you looked at me with steady eyes,
And eased the weight I used to carry in fear.
I never knew that sharing a life was gentle,
Not a battle or a test or a quiet ache,
But two people learning how to move together,
Finding comfort in every choice they make.
I never knew that trust could grow like this,
Slow and real without being asked to rush,
Built through evenings talking about nothing,
Built through moments held in a simple hush.
I never knew how much I needed someone,
Not to fix me, just to walk beside me true,
Someone who saw the tired parts of my soul,
didn’t step back when the tears came through.
I never knew that love could feel so steady,
Not loud, not wild, just honest and clear,
Something that rises quietly inside the chest,
Something that stays even when storms appear.
I never knew any of this was possible,
Not until you opened that part of me,
Its now I understand what being a couple means,
A life shared, a heart shared, finally free.

Finding each other is wonderful nicely expressed,
You found The One special person, and this is a great way to express that. Good job.
