I Need Depth

Mid-level conversation with a potential partner

I need depth like a broader bandwidth

I crave layers of consistency

Like a triple-decker sandwich

I must engage in conversation, leaving a sensation

Of intellect, I cannot quite dissect

Yet each syllable equates to elongation

Longing for more chatting, for more eye-level talking

Making my seated self sink deeper into my seat

Responsive eyelash batting; your mind, I'm stalking

I need more than looks and charm to sweep me off my feet

This is a genuine declaration and bold. I really like this poem and can relate to it. Thank you for sharing Marilyn 😊

  • Yes, I need a deep emotional connection. Everything else is just so shallow. Loved your poem!

Good job. There is more to relationships that the physical package.

So good Marilyn. Yeah, pretty packaging is all very nice (for a while) but having someone who makes you laugh and 'gets you' is so much more important. This was brill.

There's always a great feeling accompanied to sincere, real conversations, even if it's just a one-moment thing ♥️ Marilyn, you'll have the depth, consistency, and sincerity to sweep you off your feet soon. :)

Wish more people would look for the depth, and not just "judge the book by its cover".

  • This takes time and if it stays it can be right, if not , it was wrong

  • As Rachel says, meaningful engagement is a rare thing. An intellect that is not overly complex and borders on sincere simplicity is the best. Too many times intense intellect is accompanied with a cluttered and confusing mind. The craftiest conversationalists often lack sincerity in heart.
