An ode to the living

Living seems to be very hard, but I’m still here.

Pain stretches out by the yard, but I’m still here.

Intrusive thoughts plague my mind, but I’m still here.

It seems peace is very hard to find, but I’m still here.

It’s difficult to take a breath, but I’m still here.

It’s like I have nothing left, but I’m still here.

Sometimes I feel like I’m cursed, but I’m still here.

It’s like my world is getting worse, but I’m still here.

I keep losing all of my peers, but I’m still here.

My faith is drowning in my fears, but I’m still here.

Stuck in a world filled with strife, but I’m still here.

Feels like the end of my life, but I’m still here.

Feels like my soul is gonna burn, but I’m still here.

I’ve reached the point of no return, but I’m still here.

I’m trapped in my own head, but I’m still here.

Maybe I’m supposed to be dead, but I’m still here.

Needed to hear this today. I, too, am still here, and grateful to be.
