I loved you at first sight
It only took seconds when I spotted you across the classroom and looked into your eyes
Your beautiful sky-blue eyes met mine
And I saw your smile as you recognized a friend
I heard your laughter as your friend told a joke
And when the teacher had called your name, I heard you speak, and it was as if I knew you already
Then the bell rang, and you gathered your belongings
And as the day went by, I just kept picturing your face
At lunch I told my friends about you
And one of them knew who you were
She stopped you and introduced us
We shook hands and we smiled at one another
My heart raced and my stomach fluttered
And when we talked, I developed a stutter
And when the days went by, I realized the feeling wasn't mutual
But as time went on, we became best friends
And in the end as we went our separate ways
One thing always remained the same
That at first sight I loved you
