I love you, but do you love me?

A poem about love, longing, and the pain of feeling overlooked. It’s a raw reflection on giving your all to someone who might not feel the same way anymore, and the doubt that creeps in when another catches their eye.

I love you,

but do you love me?

I love you like the fish love the sea.

I love you—

I am your fish,

and you are my sea.

We’re meant to be,

but there’s always another fish swimming by.

I see you looking at her as she passes by,

your eyes dazzling like the night sky.

I’ve always been here.

She just came.

Even if I made mistakes,

you’re still my home,

the only place I’ve ever known.

I miss how we used to be,

always on the phone.

You were my ride or die,

but now it’s more like “say hi” or “pass by.”

I know you know I love you a lot,

but it feels like you’re taking my love for granted—

trading me in for a parking spot.

I love you,

but do you love me?

I love you,

but there are always more fish in the sea.

Wow, this poem really captures the complexity of love and the vulnerability that comes with it.
