The Window

A Poem

Staring out the window

I watch the days go by

I wonder what happened

I think about what I chose

And ponder, why?

Where am I?

What am I doing?

Why do we do what we do?

What is the point of all this

It has been said

“It is possible to commit no mistakes and still lose. That is not a weakness; that is life.”

And yet, I sit and think

Did I make the best choice

Not the right choice

There is no such thing as an absolute right choice

But did I do the best for you

For me

For we

There is no knowing

There is only the now

And the hope for a better future

Where we both find our happy place
