I love Lilac's Because of You..

A Few Things I never told you, about You.

By Rita Montgomery (Pearl M.)Published 4 years ago 1 min read

Dear Mom,

There's something I've meant to tell you, and it's not what you might think, in fact it is not really even a secret, and certainly not mine to keep..

I never told you..

That you looked summer all the time; that I saw campfire light behind your eyes at night, that your hair was flowy and wispy, like on road trips with the windows down to Fleetwood mac blaring high..

I never told you..

That you looked like Art; that your smile was always bright and constant like Van Goh’s Starry Night. And the way your grace was carried in your stride as if you were like Xanadu on her skates in the sky..

I never told you..

That you looked like a Warrior; When our lives crumbled and you held up the pieces, while never dropping your sword. You seemed frazzled, and I watched you cry, and then you rose up as if you’d always had a dry eye..

I never told you..

That I’ve never doubted you for a second; even in the moments you most certainly doubted yourself, I never once believed that any other mother would have been as good as you. I never told you that the reason I love Lilac's is because of you..

You always bloomed when others did not, and the whole world knew when you did, and when it was time to go within yourself, you left hope to carry its delight on the winds..
