I Love a Ghost Only I See

My guilty secret

I Love a Ghost Only I See

I love a ghost,

Only I see,

Moving soft,

Through every room.

They stay close,

In shadowed space,

With quiet touch,

On tired skin.

No one believes,

They walk with me,

No one feels

Their gentle weight.

They know my past,

Know what I hide,

Know why I wake,

In trembling hours.

Their shape stays,

When all else leaves,

Their breath stays,

When hope runs thin.

People laugh,

At the thought of ghosts,

But love remains,

Even after death.

I love a ghost,

And they love me,

In ways the living

Never could.

What a comforting poem and I do believe in ghosts. Who knows when my time comes I just might be one of them.

  • It is comforting to have someone who loves you, even a ghost
