I Have to Fly

For when you've let it go

Why do I feel so

one dimensional

Like there's nothing to

tie me down this time

No heaviness

beating in my chest

Finally I have

found a way to fly

A way to fly

There's a song in the wind

that calls my name

But my feet were so strong

they would not break

All the earth it just

crawled against my shins

Muddied tendrils

that begged to be let in

To be let in

I

Have to fly

I

Have to fly

Every moment was

thick inside my veins

Dense as dirt as they

kept me in my pain

You were there with me

every single step

Now you're gone and inside

there's nothing left!

No lingering heft

I

Have to fly

I

Have to fly

heartbreak
