On Perfection and What It Presses Flat

Today is Seuss Day - a day that celebrates bright rhymes and tidy morals, This one wanders into his territory.

Sometimes, what is changed cannot return.

He can. So can we.

🌫️🏘️✨

The Grizzle in a perfect town

Where all frowned the perfect frown;

Where all ladies, trim and prim,

Wore dresses, neat and slim.

πŸŒΏπŸ“πŸ˜Ά

Paused giggles, counted sighs,

Cut the tales, lengthened ties,

Canned the laughs, shortened smiles

Shooed the birds, lengthened lies.

πŸ‘οΈπŸ•―οΈ

A strange child, silent soul.

No cute smile, but shadow bold

He sits still, watches me

I nearly run, barely flee

πŸͺŸπŸŒ±

The windows white, green vines flat

Laughter clear, inward trapped;

Grizzle grins. Nothing new.

"Don't block me, or spoil my view."

πŸŒ‘πŸ”’

He still stays, he still grins

Spoils the hues, and smiles thin

He lays flat, the fences white,

Cans laughter, blocks the light.
