I Have No Socks
Poem

I wanted some religion after nightfall
Is that a bear or wolf around the corner making a sound?
Sheep's clothing never fit me
The Lady of Lourdes is looking down upon the town of doom
And I have no jewellery box but my earrings fit in my pocket
Fake proposals two years ago, did I anger someone, how? I wonder
And my old artwork won't touch the walls now
The Lady of Lourdes smiles anyway
I cannot be erased away
I might speak French in my sleep
Maybe a spirit will see
And I have no bed either
I wish the sun was shining now
Maybe the tears of the Lady of Lourdes will wash away the town
I had amnesty all along
There is freedom in flight
Lost in the moment the light beneath me lifts and I don't have any socks so I'll never touch the ground
French turns to Latin in my sleep
I can hardly wait to have my satins back, the furry kind
Ave, Ave, Ave, Maria

I lingered on "have no jewellery box but my earrings fit in my pocket," 😁
Very surreal, but I like it
Interesting , 🤔. Our Lady Our Lourdes give us the prediction on what’s been happening in todays world. I am sure she is crying with the disharmony that is happening . Nicely done poem , Lisa.
Nicely done, Lisa.
Our Lady always protects. Great poem.
