here is what they don't tell you:
art is meant to be messy.
you are meant to throw your head back,
bare your soul to the world,
and lose yourself in the freefall.
they say
that nothing is as difficult to recognize as one's own self.
but how are you meant to see your reflection
in the claustrophobia of a single color?
how are you meant to recognize yourself
in the stroke of a single line?
what they don't tell you
is that minimalism is for those who are afraid to look.
people who are terrified to feel
and people who are cowed at the notion of looking themselves in the eye
and giving themselves into the visualizations that pass from one person to another without ever treading this ground called Reality.
we are meant to break free from the boxes and lines.
set your wings on fire
and fall.
