I Don’t Know Clouds, At All

Bare Footed, When The Other Shoe Drops

Hanging on the wrong side of the clouds today.

Staring at the other side of me.

Waiting for the other shoe to drop, out of the way

Sitting alone, dangling bare feet

Imagination running on the fumes of yesterday

Reminding me that I once had it all

Leaving me without the proper words to say

Tethered to a phone that never calls

Freedom is elusive

and the cost, too much to pay

The questions are intrusive

And intensions, hard to say

So, I watch the clouds change shapes

And dream of better days ahead

Of heroes wearing capes

While the villains stay in bed

surreal poetry

    I love this poem!

  • I do have a tendency to sleep late, so perhaps you got your wish (on the villains part).
