I can't see you with another

No one can hear your heartbreak

By Mel WrightPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

I know the heart is just a muscle,

but yet it breaks, like pieces of a puzzle.

There is no noise or even a sound.

There is no pain, just the emptiness found.

I see you with them and I can't help but feel,

like I'm the lost puppy always on your heel.

I try and tell you that I truly love you,

but I know that you just look through;

the emotions, my heart on the page,

as I put my love into an empty cage.

Whenever I see you, my eyes start to gleam,

as at night, you wander into my dreams.

I can't help but think of the life we could have,

all the memories, the tears or the many laughs.

But as I lay here and feel my heart break.

my eyes water, the thoughts keeping me awake.

as my heart grows ever more dark

my love and soul leave without a mark.

Wishing that you could be with me,

but now I know, that will never be.
