I Am The Twin Flame Of Hurricanes
As I live on the sidelines

I will never be known as a pet dog’s bark
Or for that matter a sleepy cat’s meow,
I’m more like virgin wilderness personified
As my friends gather at my wolf’s howl.
***
I’ve no fables of dragons and swords
Disappointed with no fairies and queens,
Nor sweet little elves or even dwarfs
No fantasy warriors or anything in between.
***
I buck at society’s rules and regulations
I have my own moral compass as I set sail,
Breezing through my days, I steer my course
While headstrong winds whip up a gale.
***
What does society’s norm really mean
Surfing the monster waves on autopilot,
Following the flock of farmer’s sheep
Accepting when told, yellow is now violet?
***
I am happy on the sidelines as an outcast
Aware I am both a freak and a twin flame,
I brave Mother Nature’s destructive voice
Realising I‘m the twin flame of hurricanes.

My first love is poetry — it’s like a desperate need to write, to free up space in my mind, to escape the constant noise in my head. Most of the time the poems write themselves — I’m just the conduit holding the metaphorical pen.
