I Am The Ghetto
An ode to the ghetto
I am the ghetto. The cracks in the wall.
The inner outer city land where they think all the savages crawl.
These urban corner aren’t as bad as they seem.
Paupers turned princes and princesses gave birth to kings and queens.
You say the ghetto’s bad. I say the ghetto’s good.
I’ll take the ghetto over Mr. Roger’s neighborhood.
The fire hydrant wets the street when the heat is out.
We’re always in with a grin. You can’t keep us out.
We know the dealers and the killers and the dope is here.
It’s all because a bigger scope is here. We fight it until the coast is clear.
Even when we fight amongst ourselves we still care.
The cookout for neighborhood come get your fill there.
Yes the spirit of the ghetto is loud. It moves the crowd.
The ghetto was my first and being from there makes me proud.
The most accepting community. We’ll never deny you.
Sweets for the sweet. The candy lady supplies you.
Yeah there’s a lot of brokenness in our community.
Worse comes to worse we band together in unity.
In the ghetto I learned just how rough life can be.
But it only made me stronger and it just ignited me.
Everything is good in the hood because I said so.
It’s a place I’ll never let go. The ghetto is me and I am the ghetto.
~Dedicated to the ghetto.

Nicely written, Joe<3 These two lines could describe Vocal and the AI problem right now "Yeah there’s a lot of brokenness in our community. Worse comes to worse we band together in unity."
