I Am Deception

They’ll Trust Me

By Earl W. PearlPublished about a year ago Updated about a year ago 1 min read

I’ll be coming for your children and there’s little you can do

My pursuit will be relentless ‘til the devil says we’re through

I’ll convince them drugs are normal, that addiction has no shame

That they should be having sex because virginity is lame

I will help them doubt their gender, l’ll put ‘drag shows’ in their schools

I will help them choose their pronouns and to question moral rules

I’ll demand they be “inclusive, until someone disagrees”

And I’ll tell them, “No One’s listening,” if they’re praying on their knees

I’ll convince them they’re entitled, that they’re owed the life they want

How to live above their means, attain possessions they can flaunt

I will tell them all, “The universe is centered around you”

That they needn’t lift a finger and the internet is true

I’ll convince them there’s no future if they haven’t a degree

I’ll remove their inhibitions so their conscience will be free

I will teach them life is pointless, that there’s nothing they can give

Then I’ll make your children question if they even want to live

Whoa!!! That ending was brutal. So much truth in these words. It's scary to think about but shouldn't be avoided.
