I am black

Black like the ocean deep

Those quiet waters

Carrying life

In broken caverns

I too hold life

In the shattered depths

Of me

I am black

Like the midnight sky

Awakening the consciousness

Of light

I too hold constellations

In the palms of my blacks hands

Making this life

With my mystery, and wonder

See, this color of mines

Moves mountains deep

Presses against the dawn of time

Awakens queens and kings from their slumber

(Before we were expelled, by number)

I am black

I am black

I am black
