I a Paradox

True Colors

By Léon DunoisPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

I a Paradox

For I am both every color and not one at all

A shade of everything I might reflect

Whether bright and cheery or dark and dreary

The rainbow sings to me

I am the calm blue that envelopes the angry red

Yet I am also the firebrand who breeds the sanguine waves that swallow all they touch

A kind soul with an icy shell

Oh what am I really but both everything and nothing at all

I am loudest in the silence and quietest in the noise

I am not ivory nor pearl,

no only a stark white may I claim

For I a canvas of my own experience

A Jackson Pollock of emotion, past, present, and future

Both a masterpiece and the scrawlings of deceived perception

As those colors that paint me are always there

and the colors that are there are never seen

For the title of paradox, I henceforth claim

As I dance my dance as a most colorful shade
