Hurrying Our Love Too Fast, Too Soon
Let slow down and take a step back

Hurrying Our Love Too Fast, Too Soon
We hurried when we met,
like fire across dry grass.
Our hearts were wild with longing,
our hands could not let go.
Hurrying our love too fast,
too soon for steady ground.
We built a fragile castle,
with walls of air and flame.
The nights were filled with burning,
the days with restless need.
We never stopped to wonder,
if time could hold us true.
Hurrying our love too soon,
we tripped on every step.
For passion is not patience,
and heat is not the sun.
Yet still I do not hate it,
the fire that once we made.
It taught me both the danger,
and beauty of desire.
Hurrying our love too fast,
we lost before we knew.
The ash was soft around us,
the silence far too loud.
But deep within the embers,
a lesson stays alive.
That love is best when steady,
when roots go deep in soil.
So though we lost our moment,
I hold the truth it gave.
Hurrying our love too fast, too soon,
was both our joy and fall.

I've been writing poetry since the age of fourteen. With pen in hand, I wander through realms unseen. The pen holds power; ink reveals hidden thoughts. A poet may speak truth or weave a tale. You decide. Let pen and ink capture your mind❤️
