How Common Is Diabetes?
I know for the Native American population, it is extremely high with us!
Greetings from us
who have diabetes.
You two do?
I know I do Boo.
Who is we two?
Me and he, us and we
do you see?
The denial
it is not the river Nile!
🌞
We say my norm bs
is 200, don’t fuss
it is okay,
they say!
I’ve been here for awhile
no need to worry while
I feel good there.
No problem here
Suppose some will stare!
🌸
I can test daily!
And when I stop, my elbow gets scaley,
acanthosis nigricans is what happens then.
I see the signs of high blood sugar when
there is no exercise, or eating right,
then things will not come out alright.
Until I pull it all back together again.
And it’s not because I’m bright.
It is simply no gain for me
if I allow denial to run my life you see.
💕
Grandma, mom, auntie Shirl,
all took diabetes for a twirl.
I have it and one of our kids
and at some point, there will be grandkids,
then there is already nieces, nephews, cousins,
and other relatives by the dozens.
There are some things to do
before amputation and dialysis too.
No denial from family or you!
❤️

Perfectly penned poem! Diabetes or type Ii are serious conditions. Exercise and diet contribute to wellness. 💖💕
Diabetes certainly isn't something to be taken lightly. But now it's so prevalent that it's only surprising when someone says they're not a diabetic
