It Is A Holiday, The Fourth Of July🎉Time To Celebrate Or Cry?
I will cry if I want to, and you may cry if you want to...
For many years we would take the week of the fourth off from work. Then for a full week we would take our motorcycles on a ride up north. We would visit family and friends all over the upper part of the state.
It makes me sad to think about how we aren't doing that this year and how we haven't in 10 years. Somehow, I thought it would happen more in retirement!
On the 2nd of July, we missed our granddaughter's 8th birthday party as her parents are just getting over covid. My mother's birthday was yesterday, and she died in 2009 at age 75. She would be 88 this year. 20 years older than I am now. So...
I Will Cry If I Want To...
And you can feel free to cry too
The pandemic contributes to tears
It has me missing too many events in the last several years
One of my favorites was watching the fireworks
on our way home riding to get back to work
We won't see that again as it landed on just the right date
A few tears for the end of those times when we were running late
Almost missed work on the following day
Tears are good medicine my people say!
Laughter is next in line and that will come later today!
I laughed with Sarah this morning at nine
Laughing until tears formed while I dine
Looking at Facebook it is clear
Some are happy while others live in fear
Still, others will jeer
And I will drop a tear!
