Square Counting

One to ten as fast as you can,

As kids we loved the game,

What just happened to our imagination,

We migrated to talking to the phones instead of people,

And made friends with them,

It's only a slightly different nod,

The knowledge has left the building and has started to rot,

In our adult minds,

The good with the obvious,

Twice already over,

No chance for another return,

Memories of a bygone era,

We used to know the formula for having fun,

Not no more it would seem to become,

A relevant saturation of pixie sticks,

We have to combine once more.
