Haiku #1

Mountains are massive

Chunks of granite, stone and shale

Specks in the distance

Haiku #2

Most caves are empty

They used to have life; from the

Drawings on the wall

Haiku #3

There is a science

To the walls of art of the

Cave in the mountain

Haiku #4

Stories of the past

Are portrayed on the cave wall

They do not make sense

Haiku #5

I try to make sense

Of this writing on the wall

I can’t; I’m blinded

Haiku #6

A seed is planted

In the garden it grows while

The sun’s rays shine down

Haiku #7

The seed buds into

A stem that grows into a

Beautiful flower

Haiku #8

The flower is seen

By a pollination bee

Pollination starts

Haiku #9

The pollinated

Flower is mature and is

Ready to release

Haiku #10

The garden is filled

With more seeds and plants so that

The cycle repeats

Haiku #11

The river flows fast

Yet it has a calming sound

A soothing white noise

Haiku #12

Upon the river

Floats a boat into the moat

Of tranquility

Haiku #13

The raft approaches

And then, it swiftly dodges

The hanging tree branch

Haiku #14

The river carries

The boat downstream in the night

The crickets are loud

Haiku #15

The raft lands ashore

The traveler has finished

His river journey

Haiku #16

The wildlife is

Quite abundant in these woods

Even when you sleep

Haiku #17

Lying there, awake

Something made you wake, and break

The silence of night

Haiku #18

You stare into the

Darkness of midnight, and see

A form creeping: close

Haiku #19

You run like all hell

Yet, you cannot seem to tell

Just where the beast is

Haiku #20

You are now cornered

The beast is here; you pray that

This is a nightmare

Haiku #21

The beast goes to kill

Its teeth are bloody, and its

Intentions are ill

Haiku #22

The beast lets loose a

Howl that echoes into the

Starry night canvas

Haiku #23

As the beast lunges

And spittle flies from its maw

The young man screams

Haiku #24

As the beast makes the

Final leap for its prey – a

Loud bang: and it dies

Haiku #25

The protagonist

Looks, and cries in relief; for

His father saved him
