His Words Are Like Medicines

A haiku, on love

"His words are like medicines

not bitter, not smelly—

but the way they healed."

Note: I was falling in love with this man. And I would tell my mother the above things, after a comforting phone call with him.

His words were stress-relieving, no selfishness or arrogance, but empathetic, a gentle soul, in a hypocritical world.

He is my husband now. Almost 15 years of marriage. Life’s challenges, parenting responsibilities and different lifestyle choices, have made us fight sometimes, but the essence remains the same: not causing chaos in each other's personal journey.
