Hide & Seek

Playing with God

I played hide and seek with God today,

Flew a kite,

touched the sky.

Played marbles with planets,

tossed jacks

with stars.

Running barefoot in a field,

I heard the mystic sound,

in the buzz of a bee.

In the river,

pebbles and fish became my playmates,

as I danced with the current

in childish delight.

I climbed a tree,

who gave so selflessly,

but as I lacked reverence

she scratched me back.

I jumped a rope

and fell off

the edge of the world.

I played hide and seek with God today.

I think he was trying to let me win.

He was everywhere!
