Her Own Devices

Judey Kalchik's "Listen!" Poetry Anagram Challenge

By angela hepworthPublished 2 years ago 1 min read

relating to no one other than her strong-willed young self, she had no problem

jumping into action whenever one of her little sisters went alerting her for help; anything they needed, she would provide,

altering the dynamics of a family, she was both man and mother of the house, left to her own devices, and

her determination and strength were integral, making up

the harsh, solid triangle formation of her heart, mind, and soul

This was way harder than I thought it would be! Check out Judey’s awesome challenge below:

This poem is so well done! I love the sense of narrative here, and the anagram words are really cool! 'Triangle' feels so unexpected compared to the others words, but it gives the ending of the poem so much weight when connecting the subject's 'heart, mind, and soul.' Fantastic piece!!
