Her Hair is Red & Staticky
Written for the Say it Plainly Challenge
If Harold can have a purple crayon,
So can I!
My imagination is big!
***
And I’m a wonderful artist.
The scribbles you see,
Are a masterpiece to me.
***
My pallet is wide
And runs throughout the house.
Every door is waiting, calling me!
***
I start with circles,
Then straight lines
Until they form my mom.
***
Her hair is red and staticky!
Stick figure legs,
And high heeled shoes.
***
I repeat my drawing
Until I reach perfection
On every door in the hall!
***
When I hear her piercing voice,
I know my artistic days
Are numbered.
***
I’m marched down to hall
To sit in the corner
Until my tears dry up.
***
And I’m ready to destroy
My greatest creation;
Stick mom on a wall.
***
My canvas is forbidden!
My pencils sequestered!
My dreams destroyed!
***
Until I find the markers!
