Have You Ever Felt Love

Cover me in words of kindness and eyes of chocolate brown

By Rachel LynnPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

Have you ever known what it's like to be loved?

Have you ever felt love's soft hands wrap around your waist, have you ever let it slip between your lips?

And have you ever known what it's like to loose love, to give up your bare skin to its touch in trusting innocence, just to have it leave you standing cold and naked?

Have you ever stood in the midst of things, between the past and the future, between love lost and love gained, and wondered what to do next? Who do you trust, who do you push away, and to who do you give the power to break your heart?

This soft skin which I call my home, the one with the little brown beauty mark, the same one hurt by sticks and stones — cover me in words of kindness and eyes of chocolate brown that see through my smile to the story I hold deep down. Run your fingers across my scars, tell me with soft words of milk and honey that I belong amongst the stars.
