Happy Tears

A Poem

By Angel AdagioPublished about a year ago Updated about a year ago 1 min read

My fears used to result in tears.

Knowing that every room I walked through

I was never safe and destined to be abused.

Every cry for help,

'I was not making easy on myself'.

Every hope,

was lost as I fell into a downward slope.

Fighting, futilely, forever

was its own pointless endeavor.

Until I became free,

but that statement was new to me

and did not know what that could be.

My first day of being free

showed me every possibility.

When I was lost,

there was a generous hand to help me across.

When I needed help,

I thought I would be by myself,

but one request to feel at home,

'Done'.

My tears have been from fear,

but today,

my tears were from being happy here.

Happy to read Your words in this poem :) I know deeply this fear and freedom and Happiness of a being in the now Glad to find a soul who is not afraid to share real thoughts and experiences in this world where abuse is so common in everywhere but We are able to be free also to enjoy life not always alone :)
