For My Vocal Sister Melissa
A birthday ballad for my wonderful Vocal Sister Melissa. She is one of only two Vocal friends who has written a poem for me.
This is my 950th Vocal Story
Although her favourite artist is Regina Spektor, I have gone with Ry Cooder’s take on “Little Sister” which was the opening song from the first ever digitally recorded album “Bop Til You Drop”

A Ukrainian Flag On Castleberg Crag
The war in Ukraine is still going on, and I was heartened to see the Ukrainian Flag, Blue and Yellow Flying over Castleberg Crag. That thought was a self-writing Haiku and therefore a fourth entry from me to the Blue Haiku Challenge on Vocal. I also included the Pink Floyd song - Hey Hey Rise Up (feat. Andriy Khlyvnyuk of Boombox) which if you buy a copy donates to the cause.

WARNING. I will be tapping into one of your favorite creative tensions: The absurdity of humans worshipping their glowing rectangles as if they were tiny oracles. There’s something deliciously poetic about that contradiction, and it lends itself beautifully to an instructive proviso.

The CEO of Everything
They say "jack of all trades, master of none," but they forgot to mention the part where the jack of all trades is also the camera woman, the makeup artist, and the person currently yelling at a tangled Wii microphone cable in a her own bathroom while recording herself singing and trying to make it look realistic and professional. (As professional as you can make it with nothing but a cell phone camera and a mic that doesn't work)
