As long as I've known
The tears in my eyes
The sorrow in my heart
Is constant in every breath I take.
My sight has seen horrors
My heart has been drained
My fingers felt people slip away.
But through it all
I found anew
The hurt became my strength
The pain ebbed away
I let people in
To see the past pain
They knew and they stayed
Which is more than I can say
The ones that have betrayed
Made me feel so astray
But to this day
Darkness I slay
I deserve happiness
We all do in a way.
