Grudges of neglect
We often get entangled in settling scores whilst expecting empathy too…..

The weight of the world can feel so heavy to bear,
And finding someone who understands is rare.
But that’s okay—accept it, don’t wait in vain,
For others may never truly share your pain.
___
People would let you down,
Even if you believe they are to blame for pain and frown
And, perhaps for some, it’s the truth.
____
Yet we often get entangled in settling scores whilst expecting empathy too.
____
At the end of it all, there’s a cycle,
Spinning endlessly, sometimes too much for us to stifle.
Until I found solace in Jesus, I was lonely,
Bearing the world’s weight in darkness, feeling utterly unholy.
Seeking validation from others, hoping they’d rescue me from despair,
Yet time and again, I found disappointment, no one to truly care.
Curling up, days would pass in a daze,
Questioning why I had to endure these lonely, gloomy days.
____
But then came a light, gentle and divine,
A presence that whispered, “You are mine.”
In the embrace of faith, I found peace,
A love that never fades, never to cease.
No longer seeking in others the solace I crave,
For in God’s embrace, I found the strength to be brave.
____
Now the weight of the world feels lighter, you see,
For I am held in His grace, forever free.

You’ve got the kind of sapience that can only come after finding a treasure. This is gibberish to those that haven’t experienced it, but through the pain of expectations unfulfilled how can we expect them to see clearly. Ultimately we can hope that we can release ourselves from the stronghold of expectation, especially the curse of expecting empathy to our own detriment, as we are all unreliable.
