Granting The Sweet Release

By: Jason Morton

By Jason Ray Morton Published 4 years ago 1 min read

Warmth becomes you,

my deepest admiration for what you possess.

Rushing, pumping, throughout your breast,

the warmth you take for granted, that warmth you possess.

When I first found you, I could see your soul.

I found your soul, your soul so alone.

My soul so dark, so old,

your soul warmed me to the bone.

I found you again, and again,

you were always with a friend.

I promised to follow you, protect you,

knowing I'd watch over you until the end.

We've always known about each other,

stories we have heard forever.

Tales passed about through the years,

our fates tied together.

Knowing of our existence haunts you,

our worlds forever lasting.

It has always been about blood,

blood and life everlasting.

I offer you the sweet release,

for I am the vampire.

Writing has become more important as I live with cancer. It's a therapy, it's an escape, and it's a way to do something lasting that hopefully leaves an impression.
