Grace

An ode to the graceful

Could’ve given you drama, but instead I gave you grace. A bittersweet taste, never to be a waste.

Wanted to get angry, but would the anger sustain me? No point in letting your faults change me.

I touched my back and felt the cold steel of a knife, but why should I let that ruin my life?

I’m not jumping on the bitter train to walk in place.

I’d rather free myself from the past and walk in grace.

I have a lot to lose if grace is not what I choose.

I don’t wanna increase venom for the beast, but increase my peace.

I’ll see you on the other side happy with a smiling face because I chose to walk in grace.
